A few years ago I heard about the process of keeping a notebook to write thoughts during prayers. I decided to try it and each morning when I kneel to pray, I pull my notebook out and record thoughts and impressions from the Spirit. Maybe there is something I need to do that day, or remember. Maybe I just need a heaven sent “I love you”. No matter how small the thought is, I write it down.
I know the Lord is aware of me as I pray, even if at times I’m not as aware of him as I would l like to be, and that is okay. One thing I have learned is that the Lord is always excited to hear from me, no matter how grumpy I am. He wants to hear from me, to be apart of my life. He works with me to make my life better. If I take just a few moments to prepare to pray, I can feel his love during those brief moments I have with him at the beginning and end of each day.
